Emerging Artists Gallery
Artistic talent, creativity, imagination and craftsmanship are hallmarks of a healthy community. Park Avenue Thrift, Enid’s Own Community Thrift Store, is inviting schools and organizations to exhibit children’s art on our “Wall of Fame.” Your group can register for a month on a first come first serve basis. The work will NOT be for sale.
Each teacher whose student's art is chosen for display on the Wall of Fame will receive a $100 award to use in their classroom!
In a nutshell, the gallery works like this:
Registration:
Choose three possible months for your group’s exhibit. List in priority. Include any special reason for your month preference. A calendar of Park Avenue Thrift events and ideas is included here for you. Feel free to come up with your own!
Prepare the art /craft work:

Bring creative work to Park Avenue Thrift, 507 S. Grand, Enid, OK, one week prior to the exhibit.

Prepare the art /craft work:
- Place 2-D flat paintings, drawings, collages, original prints (like potato prints), photographs, paper weaving, etc. on a matt.
- Label each piece with Name (last names not required), Age and Title. Original Titles are child’s own words.
Installation:
Bring creative work to Park Avenue Thrift, 507 S. Grand, Enid, OK, one week prior to the exhibit.
- Place flat work in a box, portfolio, large paper folder.
- Sculpture and crafts pack in a fruit box with lid or top fold down closure
- Include a list of all individual pieces.
- Art / Craft work will be exhibited on a space available basis. All work will find a home, however, the wall and cases accommodate a limited number. Leaders and teachers can visit the store to judge the number of pieces.
- Art work will be removed at the end of the month and coordinator will be called.
Publicity: Participating Schools may:
- Provide a poster with Name of School or Organization
- Provide Invitations to artists for families and friends
- Include a Photo of the artists, if desired
- Provide detailed information for newspapers, i.e., Names, nature of creative program, ages of children. Example: To raise awareness of the Season, Self-Portraits of Second Graders, etc.
Ideas for Themes:
- Art Media can include painting, drawing, photographs, clay or any type of 3-D media.
- Seasonal Themes
- Pets and Animals
- Self-Portraits
- Architecture (Commercial buildings, houses, schools, etc.)
- Landscapes
- When I grow up I’m going to ____________ (Professions, Occupations)
- Vacations
- Fashion, Costumes
- Or think up your own grand theme
